Tim Clegg joins as Head of New Business Development

Tim Clegg brings access to a wide range of capital sources in EMEA and North America.

He is tasked with supporting the company’s growth and strengthening its relationships with UK and international real estate investors.

Tim Clegg has more than 20 years of experience in finance, where he has advised hedge funds and real estate asset managers on capital raising from European, Middle Eastern and US institutional and family office investors.

He has previously held roles at Aerium, where he led the real estate business development programme, and at Morgan Stanley’s prime finance division and Citi UK, where he headed the Middle East and UK and continental Europe capital introductions units respectively.

Tim maintains significant relationships with family offices and institutional investors across the Middle East and has already introduced a Middle East investor to one of Charles Irvine’s longstanding clients, Tavis House Properties, which has committed to invest on a programmatic basis.

The appointment by Charles Irvine aims to engage entrepreneurial clients and offer them long-term support by securing the appropriate investors and investment at every stage of their business and portfolio lifestyle.

Tim said: “Too often real estate managers and developers are unable to secure the right funding partner because they are unable to navigate the appropriate investor landscape that matches where they are in their lifecycle. I’m delighted to be joining a team that understands every stage of the real estate developer journey and realises that relationships are central to this.

“I’m looking forward to ensuring our clients secure institutional and family office investment as their real estate portfolio develops and grows.”

David Cunnington, founding partner at Charles Irvine, said: “Tim joins us at a time of continued, significant growth. Despite the recent environmental and market challenges, we have doubled the size of our team in the past 18 months, reflecting the optimism and ongoing demand from both real estate developers and investors for new opportunities as we look ahead to 2023.

“Tim’s knowledge of the industry, as well as his unrivalled network of UK and international investors seeking to deploy capital in real estate, will help drive new business and ensure our existing clients continue to have the best industry advice and funding opportunities available.”
